Malaspina donates the Statue of the Shoemaker to the Footwear Museum

The Malaspina farm in Monte Urano, with great pleasure, donates the Statue of the Shoemaker to the Footwear Museum of S. João da Madeira, an artisan piece that perfectly portrays a shoemaker of yesdreyear.

The delivery took place with our contact person in Portugal, Augusto Mota.

This significant offer was intended to thank the company for the support and spaces that the Footwear Museum has made available to exhibit the collection of footwear ings spring/summer 2022.

A rewarding and at the same time important gesture, wanted by the administrators of Malaspina Luigi Sbrolla and Massimiliano Santini, because this donation recalls an ancient shoemaker, with his daily attitudes and, the great head depicts his refined thoughts, aimed at full customer satisfaction. An original piece, handmade by Italian artisans for the documentation center room of the Museum of S. João da Madeira.

The gratitude comes from Joana Galhano, director of the museum and as a representative of the city, wanted to thank for the offer, extending her thanks to Luigi Sbrolla and Massimiliano Santini, as well as Augusto Mota.

We are pleased that the work now belongs to the Museum and that it can be exhibited to the public representing all Italian manufacturing production.

The pandemic among the many negative notes it is bringing, at least has managed to do something good. During the months of limitation of the fairs, in particular Lineapelle in Milan and Futurmoda in Alicante, we were able to present the new sample thanks to the contribution of the museum so in addition to making a personalized exhibition, we were able to bring customers closer together, avoiding any movement and/or discomfort due to travel.

Surely the town of S. João da Madeira, together with the Museu do Calçado, will be the ideal stop for other exhibitions.
